hello MERMER friends and fans –
It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news of the loss of our drummer, friend and brother, Jeff Mucciolo. Jeff passed away suddenly late last month. Those who knew him know that Jeff was, as they say, “one of the good ones.” He was of course a gifted musician, but he was so much more. Jeff was a loyal and trusted friend, a role model, a confidante, a writer, a goofball, and above all else, a family man.
MERMER had a show scheduled for December 6 in NYC, and after much discussion we decided that without question, Jeff would have wanted the show to go on. Our friend Gregg Raybin at The Jam is working to put together a show with several of Jeff’s bands celebrating his life and the happiness he brought to so many through his music. We’ll have more details to share soon.
A memorial fund has been established with VH1’s Save the Music Foundation in Jeff’s memory. This foundation raises money for bringing music programs into public schools in under served communities. A donation made in Jeff’s name will give music education and instruments to enhance these children’s lives. Donations are welcome here.
